May/June NEWSLETTER

 From the Minutes of the May Executive Meeting, we have the following information.


CORRESPONDENCE:  District Golf Tournament Aug 19-21

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Sports- Cde. B. Howe- darts done for the year. Looking at a tournament this summer

Entertainment/Special Events-Cde. B. Brennan/G. Goresky- Meeting with the Quarry Days committee. Security- trying to get Toro. Food Truck- committee is going to try get us one for beer gardens. June 2 next quarry days meeting.

Building & Maintenance- Cde. G. Deprez- Lighting almost complete. Polman is changing hands. Reseal fence at back. Paint yellow lines in parking lots

Membership- Cde. C. Fedon- 1 transfer and 3 new applications

NEW BUSINESS

At the time of the May meeting, Chase the Queen was 15 cards $3700
Thank you to everyone for helping with April dinner.
Decoration Day parade on June 5 was being planned, with lunch at the hall by the ladies afterward.

A quorum for the General Meeting was not present.

Thursday Doors open at 6, Crib starts at 7 sharp

Friday 4-10 BBQ 5:30, Meat Draw at 6:30

WHAT'S NEW

I am sure that everyone wonders what has been going on down at the Legion! Here are highlights from the March meeting.

Eighteen members attended the General Meeting of Branch #52 on March 8, 2022. A motion was made and carried to accept the Donation Budget as presented.

 COMMITTEE REPORTS

Membership Committee chair Cde. C. Fedon reported 6 new members and 1 transfer; moved, seconded and carried.

Sick & Visiting chair reported a card was sent to Jim Ross and family on passing of his wife.

Building & Maintenance chair Cde. G. Deprez reported that lighting has been approved and supplies are being ordered. The Bar in the hall has been redone due to mold in the cupboard, and the ice machine is in and working.

Entertainment/Special Events co-chairs Cde. B. Brennan and Cde. G. Goresky reported that for New Years Eve they are looking at booking Vintage Grove 2023.

Sports chair Cde. B. Howe reported that Darts is going well with 10-12 people per night participating.

President  Cde. Tim Williams sent a “Thank you” to the kitchen team and servers for the dinner on Feb. 26.
